Fantasea Adventure Cruising is a long supporter of community and environmental initiatives which underpin who we are, what we do, what we create and who we do business with. Our future success depends on us making responsible social and corporate decisions which positively impact the people and environment we are active in.
We understand that without our local communities and natural marine environment, we would not be able to feature the amazing landscapes and wonders of the Australian coast and so we support a range of initiatives that inspire our day-to-day operations across the county.
For many years, the Fantasea Foundation allocated over $100,000 annually to undertake the serious commitment of the protection of, and research into, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park is the world’s largest reef system. It has been designated as a World Heritage site and is commonly regarded as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. As Fantasea operates in and interacts with such environmentally sensitive ecosystems, it’s always been a company priority to operate sustainably and to fulfil corporate responsibility towards the environment.
Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS)
In Far North Queensland, scientists carrying out world leading marine research off the coasts of Queensland, the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Papua New Guinea are supported by the highly trained staff of Fantasea & Riverside Marine.
Fantasea & Riverside Marine manage a number of research vessels on behalf of the Australian Institute of Marine Science and are focused on implementing a planned preventative maintenance program to ensure the provision of a reliable service to the scientists carrying out this vital research.
Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS)
Naturally, Fantasea have a pro-active approach towards educating visitors to Sydney Harbour and minimising the impact of their operation on the environment resulting in the partnership with the Sydney Institute of Marine Science.
Sydney Harbour is one of the most biologically diverse harbours in the world and Fantasea provide significant support to SIMS scientists who are using both traditional and modern molecular techniques to expand our knowledge of this biodiversity & ecosystem.
Fantasea are dedicated to showcasing the natural Sydney Harbour environment to visitors and creating an awareness of the harbour which they visit.
