'FANTASEA DREAMER' Looking Pretty

Friends and 'family' of Fantasea Adventure Cruising joined together on Tuesday night for the re-naming ceremony of "Fantasea Dreamer" at Shute Harbour jetty.

Returning to the Whitsundays after a total re-paint and maintenance check in Brisbane, the old 'Fantasea Ten' is looking vibrant and fresh with her up-dated Fantasea branding.  Only six years old, the 34.9 metre catamaran services Daydream Island, Hamilton Island marina and Hamilton Island airport.  With capacity to hold 226 passengers, this high-speed catamaran sits on a comfortable cruising speed of around 28 knots.

Marketing Manager Grant Peck said "the painting and re-branding of Fantasea Dreamer is in keeping with our new branding program and eventually all vessels will be re-branded.  We have now completed 'Fantasea Wonder' and 'Fantasea Dreamer' and we are constantly aiming to increase the pleasure of the experience for all our passengers through better service, food and drink selections on our vessels."

Nigel Douglas, General Manager of Fantasea Adventure Cruising said, "As tradition goes, it was seen as auspicious to conduct a proper ceremony to ward off evil spirits with the re-naming of 'Fantasea Dreamer'. Although I am not superstitious, it seemed appropriate to have this ceremony and celebrate the arrival of Dreamer back to the Whitsundays."

Fantasea Operations Co-ordinator Kate Thornton conducted the re-naming ceremony while Mayor Mario Demartini 'christened' the newly-named vessel with the traditional bottle of champagne.  Fantasea Dreamer is back to work this Thursday.
