The Experience

There’s no place on earth like magical Whitehaven Beach. The sweeping 7km bay of pristine, pure-white silica sand is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Guests embarking on the Whitehaven Beach Experience from the mainland can combine their adventure with a free morning stop-off on Hamilton Island where they can explore the boutiques, galleries, pools and beaches, join in the many activities on offer, or simply relax and enjoy the views!

Getting There

Mainland passengers and Hamilton Island houseguests depart the island at noon for a 40-minute cruise through calm, turquoise waters to Whitehaven Beach. You’ll enjoy a healthy, gourmet ‘lunch with a view’ en route while Fantasea crew provide a fascinating commentary on the Whitsunday’s geography and history. Be sure to keep a look out for migrating whales between June to September and for dolphins and turtles year-round

Getting Wet

Once you disembark at Whitehaven, there’s plenty of time to swim in the crystal-clear waters and watch schools of fish darting in the shallows with the occasional dolphin or turtle passing by.

Staying Dry

The 7km shoreline is perfect for strolling, sunbathing or joining in Fantasea’s free beach games. Adventurous souls can head off on the guided 'Solway Walk' to the lookout and enjoy the magnificent views and wildlife.

Whitehaven beach is famous for its pure white silica sand, some people find this excellent for exfoliating and some people just like to sit in the sunshine and relax. If solitude is what you’re seeking, there’s plenty of room for everyone to find their own piece of paradise.
