My Fast Ferry and Fantasea Cruises have made the decision to cancel its scheduled New Year’s Eve Midnight Fireworks Cruises and will offer all impacted customers a refund or the opportunity to rebook their cruise in 2021 at no extra cost. We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment however our first priority is the health and safety of our customers and team members.
2020 Fireworks are going ahead
The NSW Government has confirmed Sydney’s New Year’s Eve fireworks will go ahead! The Lord Mayor is also encouraging people to watch this year’s display in a Covid-Safe environment. The vast majority of Sydneysiders will be watching from home on the television and only a limited number of tickets are available on cruises.
Our revised New Year’s Eve cruises have now been released with contactless check-in, cashless terminals, social distancing and a full range of Covid-Safe initiatives. Celebrate New Year’s Eve with our BYO fireworks cruise on Ocean Wave, departing at 10:00pm from Rose Bay Wharf with ample time to get into a great position on Sydney Harbour for the most spectacular fireworks displays in the world.
At the stroke of midnight, we will celebrate the start of the new year in spectacular fashion with Sydney’s world-famous fireworks display. A huge range of pyrotechnic effects from across the Sydney Harbour Bridge will illuminate the sky.
Our vessels will be in a prime position on Sydney Harbour, which ensures us uninterrupted views of the midnight fireworks. Exact location to be confirmed.

A great position on Sydney Harbour offers uninterrupted views of the fireworks. Exact 2020 fireworks positions on Sydney Harbour have not been confirmed yet.
In 2019 our vessels were just west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge for Darling Harbour departures and east of the Sydney Harbour Bridge for Manly departures.

All of our departure locations at Darling Harbour, Rose Bay and Manly are located outside of the green zone, therefore you are not required to apply for a New Year’s Eve Pass to join our Fireworks Cruises.For more information about the New Year’s Eve Pass click here.

Our New Year’s Eve Sydney Harbour Cruises comply with COVID-19 social distancing requirements, which means passenger numbers are reduced. All of our boats have plenty of outside viewing deck space, which allows you to look up and around to see the fireworks.

Give some consideration to where you will board and disembark the vessel, New Year’s Eve is a busy night generally and will look very different in 2020 with strict access to the city centre.
